Abstract

311,119. Haldane, G., and Smeaton, J. May 29, 1928. Hoods.-In hoods of the type in which the hoop-sticks run on horizontal rails the rear part of the cover is provided with a curved panel to give it the appropriate shape, the panel being adapted to be drawn from and to recede into a recess in the body of the vehicle and the front cross-bar is connected to the front hoop-stick by hinged links so that the cross-bar may be turned back on to the hoop-stick. The curved panel B is secured to the cover A by known means and curved brackets D<1> serve to guide it. A recess E is provided. The front cross-bar F is secured to the front hoop-stick G by hinged links H, J so that the cross-bar may be turned back on the hoop-stick as shown. Bolts L, M serve to secure the cross-bar to the wind-screen. Stops R, S on the rails N, P limit the forward motion of the hoop-stick G.
