Abstract
206,264. Wilson, T. Aug. 12, 1922. Hoods.-To convert a hood of the Ford touring car type into a " one-man " hood, the front support is dispensed with and the corresponding bow C is pivoted to link-plates H, I provided with stops, pins, or lateral projections c<1>, c<2> to control its movements. The plates I, H are connected respectively to the front bow D and a link G pivoted to a bracket E secured to the rear support A. The bracket E carries a stretcher arm F pivoted at a point intermediate its ends to the link-plate H and at its front end to the bow D. In a modification, the ends of the plates H, I engage lugs on the bow C when the hood is extended, and they are shaped to hold the bow between them in the folded position. In another form, extensions of the plates H, I engage a pin on the bow C when the hood is folded. According to the Provisional Specification, the fittings are applicable to other hoods and allweather heads.
