Abstract

317,248. Bunn, C. W. Sept. 12, 1928 Hoods.-In hood fittings of the kind having a hinged pillar fitting, an attachment plate, a cant rail and a back stay pivoted to the attachment plate and in which the cant rail is connected to the -back stay by a lever pivoted to the pillar fitting, the folding pillar fitting is connected to the attachment plate by a link. As shown, the pillar fitting comprises a part 1 and upper jaws 2 and is connected to the attachment plate 8 by a link 9. The cant rail 6 is connected at 7 to a cranked lever 4 which is also connected to the back stay 5 at 10 and pivoted to the pillar fitting at 3. The back stay 5 is linked to the pillar fitting by a link 12. The pillar fitting is also connected to the cant rail 6 by links 13, 14, 16. The whole comprises a unit which may be attached to the vehicle body to a wooden pillar and transverse wooden hoop sticks.
