Abstract

Hoods and opening tops.-A folding head for automobile vehicles, particularly those of the cabriolet type of the kind described in Specification 6356/13, wherein the cantrails are in two hinged portions d, g supported equally in the closed position of the head by the middle or door folding-pillar w and controlled by a spring barrel carrying hoop-sticks for supporting the cover, is provided with a rear jointed strut o which can only be broken when the front part d of the cant-rail is raised. The front part d has a heel a which operates, by means of a rod e, an L-shaped lever j pivoted on its toe, depressing a link and slide m, and thus drawing inwards the upper part of the strut o by means of a link s, which has an extension connected to the lower part of the strut by a spring u normally keeping the joint rigid. The front part d of the cant-rail is connected by a link b to an inverted-L piece v, 4 on the folding door-pillar w, the rear part g of the cant-rail being pivoted to the piece v, 4 at x and to the front part d at z, as described in Specification 139,341.
