Abstract

Hoods.-In hood-fitttings for landaulettes and other vehicles in which the rear of the falling pillar is linked to the rear of the cant-rail, a lug 2 on a fitting 1 on the falling pillar 14 is connected to the cant-rail 7 by two parallel links 12, 13, and the top 3 of the fitting 1 is reduced in width so that it projects between the links and prevents them from twisting laterally. Each link 12, 13 is pivoted between a pair of lugs 10 on a plate 8 secured to the cant-rail 7, the plate also carrying lugs 9 to which is pivoted a link 6 passing between the pairs of lugs 10 and connected to jaws 5 on an extension 4 of the fitting 1 on the pillar 14. As shown in Fig. 4, a forwardly and upwardly extending link 18 is pivoted at 19 to the link 13 which connects the rear of the pillar 14 to the cant-rail and at 20 to a forwardly and downwardly extending link 21 hinged to the cant-rail at 22 and either of these links may have a transverse extension 24 to which a support for the hood fabric may be attached.
