Abstract

232,044. Short, A. E., Short, H. O., Bell, W. G., and Gouge, A. April 26, 1924. Hoods.-In order to prevent undue strain in the hood fabric or any shrinkage, the frame members are arranged to permit resilient contraction. The rear strut F, Fig. 1, is provided with two tubes M, N arranged telescopically and enclosing a spring P. In another form, the rear strut F, Fig. 4, is connected to a lever T pivoted to the body at J, the lever T having an extension U controlled by a spring V on the standard G.
