Abstract
199,852. Bunn, C. W. April 10, 1922. Hoods. - In folding h o o d - fittings f o r vehicles in which the cant-rail is adapted to fall substantially parallel to and move with the falling pillar, one of the links connecting the cant-rail to the pillar is provided with a stop upon which the rear end of the cantrail, or a fitting thereon, rests when the hood is extended. Pivoted to the upper part of the falling pillar 2 is a link 3 pivoted at its other end at 5 to a cant-rail 1 provided at its rear end with an arm 9 connected by an L-shaped link 6 to the lower part of the pillar 2 near its front edge. In the extended position, the link 3 is inclined downwards from the pillar 2 and the link 6 extends vertically upwards from its pivot 7 permitting the arm 9 to rest on a stop 10 formed on it. During folding, the joint of the rear stretcher-bar 11 is broken by the engagement of the upper link 3 with an extension 12 thereof.
