Hoods.- In a hood fitting for closed motor vehicles, comprising a plate 6 secured to the back pillar 1 and having a bent arm 7 to which is pivoted a rod 21, a strap 17 secured to the rear half cant-rail 14 and having a downwardly bent portion pivoted to the plate 6, a link connecting the strap 17 and the rod 21, the strap and rod being connected to devices for carrying the front-half cant-rail and the hoop-sticks, an arm 19 is provided on the strap to which the link 20 is pivoted, the link 20 is pivoted to the end of the rod 21, and a telescopic spring rod 25 is connected to a bent arm 24 on the rod 21.
