Arrangements of springs with mountings complete in themselves.-A vehicle shock - absorber comprises a support b mounted on the axle a, having pivoted thereto bent levers d the upper ends of which are connected by links to the frame, their other ends being connected by springs e<1>, e<2> to a vertical arm on the support b. The levers d are guided by links k attached to a pin working in a slot j, or by other means. The apparatus resists the rising movement of the axle, and the return only after the upper links pass the horizontal. By varying the relative position of the pivots of the links, the apparatus may be made to operate in both directions. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a), also describes an apparatus with a single spring connecting the lower ends of the levers and without the guide links k, and also a similar apparatus mounted in the contrary sense. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
