633,506. Axle mountings. SCHWEIZERISCHE LOKOMOTIV-UND MASCHINENFABRIK. May 27, 1947, No. 14113. Convention date, May 27, 1946. [Class 103 (vi)] In a floating axle mounting, of the type in which the axle box 3 is pivotally secured to the sub-frame 7 by means of a swing-lever 4, 5, the helical springs 15 for transmitting the load from the axle box to the sub-frame are passed through apertures in the arms 4, 5 of the swing lever, fore-and-aft of the axle. The balance arm 18 supporting one pair of spring ends could instead be pivoted at the top of the axle box, the springs still passing through the lever arms 4, 5.
