Hoods.-In folding hoods for motor vehicles, including motor boats, of the type in which the hood mechanism, which is carried solely off the upper part of a single standard, is extended and contracted during the rising and falling movements of the standard by positive mechanical means, the positive means employed to extend and contract the hood mechanism, which extends both fore and aft of the standard, operates directly on the cant-rail. As shown, the rear cant-rail D is pivoted to the standard B at d<1> and is extended to the rear and pivoted to a link E which is also pivoted to the body at e. The rear hoop A<1> is pivoted to the forward hoop A<2> at a<5> and also to the standard by a link a'. The hoop A' is connected to the forward cant-rail A<3> by a link a<3> and pivoted to the rear cant-rail D at a<4>.
