Abstract

329,885. Griffiths, F. R. July 4, 1929. Signs.-In a box sign of the type comprising a rear illuminated panel 9 bearing advertising or pictorial matter, which is viewed through the open or partly open or transparent front 7, mirrors reflecting the rear displayed matter are provided around some or all of the sides 10 of the box. As applied to a sign as claimed in Specification 328,825, the front panel 7 constitutes a stencil through the open parts of which the rear panel 9 may be viewed, both panels being removably mounted in channels 6, 8. The panel 9 may be illuminated from the front by light admitted through the openings of the stencil 7, or by making the mirrors 10 of the translucent type ; as shown, lamps 11 with reflectors 13 are provided to illuminate the panel from the rear. Rear illumination by daylight may further be effected by the provision of a rear inclined mirror and an open top to the back part of the casing.
