Abstract

328,971. Pickup, T. T. Feb. 8, 1929. Reel and non-endless web apparatus; illumination, changing advertisements by controlling.-Signs of the daylight reflector type have a translucent mirror to permit illumination from the rear by artificial light, the stencil being a web mounted on rollers in proximity to the mirror. The forwardly-inclined translucent mirror 1 is mounted in a casing 6 provided with rollers 5 carrying the stencil bearing web 2 in proximity to the mirror, a transparent cover 8 being provided. When the sign is illuminated by downwardly directed daylight the stencil symbols are reflected by the non-covered portions of the mirror. A lamp 4 is fitted in the casing for illuminating the symbols by light transmitted through the mirror. An inspection opening 7 is provided. A frontwardly projecting coloured glass may be fitted to the top of the casing. More than one sign unit constructed as above may be combined to form a complete sign.
