Abstract
323,531. Stafford, C., (Daimler Benz Akt.- Ges.). Oct. 2, 1928. Cylinders receiving liquid fuel.-A pre-ignition chamber for Diesel engines comprises a space b, b<1> into which the fuel is injected through a nozzle a, and a second space h of smaller cross-section which communicates with the reduced part b<1> of the first space through a ring of holes d, the second space h being formed between the inner surface of the pre-ignition chamber and a cylindrical core f which projects beyond the holes d and terminates in a conical tip which coacts with the wall of the chamber to form a conical discharge orifice. The part b<1> is provided with a two-part sleeve c, c<1>, the part c being provided at the bottom with the holes d and the core f. An insulating space c<2> may be formed around the part c.
