Abstract

363,560. Fuel injectors. SWISS LOCOMOTIVE & MACHINE WORKS, Winterthur, Switzerland. March 3, 1931, No. 6579. Convention date, March 27, 1930. [Class 7 (iii).] The body 2 of a liquid fuel injector is mounted within a sleeve 3 having at its inner end a chamber 7 to which a cooling medium is supplied direct by a pipe 8, the cooling fluid being discharged from the chamber 7 into the cooling chamber of the cylinder head. The inner wall of the cooling chamber 7 is formed by a tubular nut 9 which may closely surround the lower portion of the injector body to ensure a good transferent of heat. The construction is such that the injector may be removed complete from the sleeve 7 without disturbing the cooling arrangement. The pipe 8 may enter the sleeve 7 tangentially or radially ; when the cooling medium is admitted tangentially the discharge. orifice is located near the inlet.
