Abstract
512,114. Liquid-fuel injectors. SOC. ANON. A. SAURER. Jan. 6, 1939, No. 474. Convention date, Jan. 11, 1938. [Class 7 (iii)] The injector o is surrounded by a water-cooled sleeve e of good heatconducting material, such as copper, which extends almost as far as the nozzle outlet n that projects into the combustion chamber d. The sleeve seats, preferably with the interposition of poor heat-conducting material, such as sheet asbestos m, in a recess g in the wall of the chamber and the wall shields the end of the sleeve from the combustion chamber. Heat absorbed by the nozzle is conveyed through contacting surfaces q, r to the sleeve. If the recess is deeper than that shown in the drawing, the surfaces q, r may be disposed within it.
