Abstract

321,422. Johnson, J. Y., (I. G. Farbenindustrie Akt.-Ges.). June 2, 1928. Producers.-In the production of producer gas from granular fuel containing fuel dust, part of the gasifying agent is supplied below the fuel to keep the latter in suspension and part is admitted at different levels in the gasification chamber the hot gaseous mixture containing fuel dust being then conducted through a large secondary gasification chamber. A heat accumulator may be provided in the producer and used for generating water gas after it has been heated in the period in which producer gas is made. In Fig. 1, fuel is supplied to a constricted portion B by a worm feed D, air is fed through a pipe H to an air chamber A to blow the fuel into the shaft E to which further air is admitted through nozzles F, the hot fuel and gases passing to a secondary gasification chamber G.
