Abstract
198,777. Travers, M. W., and Clark, F. W. March 9, 1922. Producers.-In a complete gasification process the retort B above the combustion chamber A is heated partly by the passage therethrough of water gas from the producer, and partly by some of the gases leaving the apparatus which are heated in a regenerator G and again passed through the retort. The blow gases enter the regenerator G by orifices H and are burnt therein with secondary air from an inlet Q, the waste gases escaping by a stack pipe P. The water gas during the run is drawn by a fan O from the gas pipe L through a valve N and delivered to the regenerator G passing through the orifices H to the retort B and assisting in carbonizing the fuel. The gases distilled during the blow period are withdrawn by a pipe J and fan K. In a modification, the regenerator is in a structure separate from the producer.
