Abstract
292,410. Regenerative Coal Gasification System, Ltd., and Travers, M. W. Nov. 11, 1927. Producers.-A gas generating plant of the kind described in Specification 210,356 is modified by arranging the carburetting chamber in series with the regenerating chamber, so that the whole of the blow gas passes from the latter chamber through the former and then through a superheating chamber. During the blow, the gas passes from the gasification chamber B through the regenerator D, carburetter E and by pipe J to a preheating chamber C and out through the stack valve S. During the run, mixed water gas and distillation gas from the retort A passes through the main H, and a portion is withdrawn and passed by a blower G through the chamber C to the chamber D, from which part of the gas returns to the shaft B and part passes through the carburettor E to a wash box M cooler O and through valve P to the main H. In a modification the preheating chamber is arranged between, and in open communication with the carburettor E and wash box M. and in such an arrangement an additional preheating chamber may be provided.
