Abstract

298,347. Seed, W. Sept. 16, 1927. Knobs and handles, attaching.-A door knob with a ball-bearing mounting comprises a rose plate 1 with a spigot 3 fitting a hole in the door housing a sleeve 9 forming one of the ball-races, and a coned member 10 screwed to the spindle 6 to form the other ball-race. The coned member 10 on one knob may be fixed and on the other, secured in adjusted position by a nut 12 with a non-rotatable washer 11 interposed between the member and the nut. The rose plate may be integral as in Fig. 1, or made up of stampings riveted together, Fig. 4.
