Abstract

1428550 Door handles WILMOT-BREEDEN Ltd 24 May 1974 [19 April 1973] 19401/73 Heading A4U [Also in Division E2AJ A door handle assembly comprises a bracket 1 for fixing in a door structure, a flap-like handle 3 pivotally supported by the bracket, and a helical torsion spring 16 which engages bearing surfaces 15, 17 on the bracket and handle such that fitting of the spring serves to retain the handle and bracket in assembled relationship with the spring coaxial with the pivot axis 9. As shown, the side walls 11 of the handle carry stub shafts 12 which are disposed in slots 13 in the side walls 5 of the bracket. One of the walls 11 carries a pivot for attachment to a latch release linkage. The stub shafts may be carried by the side walls of the bracket.
