Abstract

Spray carburettors.-A piston b is movable across an air inlet tube d and slides over a fuel tube c provided with' number of orifices g or a slot or slots. The air tube is mounted on the top of the induction manifold by a flange e and the fuel pipe is connected at f. To ensure fluid tightness the halves of a split bush i are forced against the fuel tube by springs k which, at their outer ends, bear against a split sleeve l surrounding the piston b. In a modification, Fig. 4, the halves i<1> of the bush are forced against the tube by a spring m and a plate n each of which engages a bevelled end of the bush. The springs k in the modification need not press against the bush.
