Abstract
358,936. Fuel pumps. AVIGDOR, R., 32, Leibniz-Strasse, Charlottenburg, Berlin. July 8, 1930, No. 20694. [Class 102 (i).] In a diaphragm fuel-pump the diaphragm 2 is operated by springs on both the suction and delivery strokes. A rod 3, secured to the diaphragm, is formed with a shoulder 4 engaged by the contracted end of a tube 5, carrying a plate 6 engaged by a cam &c. When the tube 5 is pressed inwards for the discharge stroke, the engagement 4 permits lost motion, and the stroke is effected by a spring 9. The suction stroke is effected by a stronger spring 8. The inlet passage 19 discharges into a glass bell 17 containing the suction pipe 13, which is provided with suction openings 14 surrounded by a filter 16. Small openings 15 at the upper part of the pipe 13 prevent air look in the bell. An inlet valve 12 and outlet valve 11 are provided.
