Abstract

305,440. Brownback, H. L. Aug. 2, 1928. Cylinders, pipes for. - An induction system for a multicylinder engine comprises a number of ducts arranged so that the combustible mixture, flowing from the carburettor to any cylinder, passes through the same length of piping. In the arrangement, for a radialcylinder engine, shown, two concentric pipes R, S have connection A - - E to the cylinders and P to a carburettor. The mixture passes round the pipes in opposite directions, and holes 1f enable the flow to take the directions shown by the arrows, to equalize the delivery to each cylinder.
