258,760. Imray, O. Y., (Murray, T. E.). Dec. 23, 1925. Liquid, gaseous, and pulverulent fuel furnaces.-Jets of fuel from burners 3<a>, 3<b>, &c. are directed along the furnace walls 5 comprising water tubes 4 and impinge upon jets of fuel from burners 2b, 2<c>, &c. arranged in the adjacent walls so as to produce a number of whirling columns of burning fuel. The burners may be arranged at the bottom of the furnace or at two or more different levels. Each burner may be replaced by a group of burners. Additional jets of fuel mav be delivered from water-cooled burners 6 into the spaces between the whirling columns of fuel.
