Atmospheric gas burners; perforated-tube burners.-A gas griller comprises a flat hollow body c of fire-clay or similar refractory material, to the interior of which gas is supplied and issues at the burner face by a plurality of fine holes d, the gas passing from the inlet pipe e through wire gauze to a longitudinal chamber h communicating with the body c by a slit k<1> in a diaphagm plate j. The body c is held in a metal frame a, and the burner face is surrounded by a rectangular fireclay flange g moulded thereon to confine the flame. Two such bodies c may be arranged on edge face to face. In a modification the hollow body c is constructed of a number of fire-clay tubes i embedded in fire-clay consolidating the whole into a single flat hollow burner as shown on the righthand of Figs. 1 and 2, and in such case the distributing-chamber h communicates with each tube i by a separate hole k<2> in the plate j. This griller burner may be surmounted by a similar burner having upwardly-directed jets for boiling purposes.
