Abstract

219,678. British Thomson-Houston Co., Ltd., (Assignees of Brown, C. A., and Nielsen, A. C.). July 23, 1923, [Convention Atmospheric gas burners; perforated - tube and like multiple - jet burners; burners, mounting. - The burner comprises an inner tube 11, communicating with a gaseous mixture supply pipe 13 and having preferably two rows of staggered orifices 14 leading to a chamber 15 between the tube 11 and a burner tube 10, which is formed with a longitudinal slot 16 and two rows of staggered orifices 18 arranged one on each side of two rows of larger staggered orifices 17. A plate 19, T-shaped in cross-section is mounted in the slot 16 to form two chambers 21 communicating with the orifices 18 and with slots 22 in the plate, which is provided also with orifices 20 which are aligned with the orifices 17. Strips of wire gauze 23 may be detachably secured by plates 24 to the burner tube 10 and bent so as to cover the slots 22. The burner tube may have an extension 10' mounted on a pivot at 10<a> and secured in adjusted position by a slot 10<b> and a set screw.
