Abstract

685,855. Gas burners. TURLEY & WILLIAMS, Ltd., SMITH, C. D., and OTTON, D. H. March 2, 1951 [March 2, 1950], No. 5245/50. Class 75(i) In gas burners made from sheet metal a channelled or corrugated sheet metal member abuts a flat or corrugated or channelled sheet metal member to provide gas outlet passages extending from the interior of the burner. The burner shown is provided with two abutting corrugated flanges a<SP>1</SP> forming parallel gas outlet passages a<SP>2</SP>. In another construction a channel member is provided with outwardly directed corrugated flanges on its side walls and a flat sheet metal plate is welded to the corrugated flanges to form a burner tube with semicircular gas outlet passages. The flat plate may be replaced by a corrugated plate whereby the outlet passages are circular. In a modification the flanges are flat but the plate is corrugated. The passages may be tapered.
