636,522. Radiants. TENNANT & SONS (WARRINGTON), Ltd., J., and TENNANT, D. R. Nov. 17, 1948, No. 29876. [Class 126] A horizontal radiant for gas fires comprises two spaced horizontal bars 2 joined by a plurality of arched bridge sections 1 on the inner surface of each of which is an inwardly projecting web 5. The bridge sections 1 at each end of the radiant are deeper than the intermediate bridge sections and provide an inverted U-shaped opening 4 for fitting on the gas burner. In fires in which the burner is long enough to accommodate more than one radiant holes are provided in each of the end bridge sections 1. The webs 5 are inwardly tapering and each space between adjacent bridge sections 1 serves as a combustion chamber for one orifice of the burner.
