Class 51(i) The wall of a tubular combustion chamber for a furnace burner comprises at least one annular row of abutting bricks which are so shaped as to form between pairs ot adjacent bricks one or more substantially straight passages extending at an angle to both the radial and tangential directions. As shown in Fig. 4 each brick is formed with two converging sides 9 which are profiled in such manner that when assembled in an annulus, Fig. 2, a number of straight inlet passages 7 are formed: the assembly is held together by clamping rings 14. In modifications the bricks may be of U-shaped or L-shaped profile.
