556,342. Gas pokers. RADIATION, Ltd., STEPHENS, S., and STRINGER, W. L. June 4, 1942, No. 7622. [Class 75 (i)] The burner portion f of a gas poker is formed with a gapped extension to prevent the obstruction of the gas orifice or orifices g by solid fuel. The poker may consist of a tube a having a handle c spaced away from it by collars e. The flame orifices communicate with a space j in the burner portion f and are preferably short to promote a turbulent flame. The burner portion f may be formed with shoulders i to abut against the grate bars of the stove. Alternatively the gas tube may be provided with a hollow head having spaced extensions of equal or unequal length, one at each side of the orifice or orifices.
