Abstract

570,383. Gas burners. MAIN, Ltd., R. & A., and ADAM, A. J. Nov. 1, 1943, No. 18058. [Class 75 (i)] The Steatite jets 17 of the nipples 16 of a gas heating burner have rectangular axial bores 18 arranged to produce flat luminous flames inclined at an angle of about 20‹ to the horizontal. The nipples 16 may be screwed into a conical surface 10 on the burner head so as to project upwardly at 15‹ to 25‹ to the horizontal. A canopy 14 having a sawtoothed flange 22 formed with edges 19 parallel to the burner flames may be arranged above the burner head as described in Specification 570,384. Additional rows of nipples may be provided on the burner head as described in Specification 570,382.
