Abstract

863,444. Gas burners. GAS COUNCIL. Jan. 5, 1960 [Oct. 7, 1958], No. 31982/58. Class 75(1). Jets issuing from holes 6 in two opposite sides of a rectangular burner for a gas cooker are parallel to one another, while jets 4 issuing from holes 3 in the other sides diverge radially from a point 5 lying in a vertical plane passing near the centres of these sides. The holes may be arranged so that the jets are upwardly and outwardly inclined at 45 degrees. Two central holes 7 in each of. the rows of holes 6 are smaller in diameter than the remainder of the holes in these rows. In a modification, Figs. 3 and 4 (not shown), the burner is of the "Bat's Wing" type in which the gas burns in a thin fan-shaped jet, the jets having the same properties as the jets in Fig. 1.
