Abstract

631,612. Vapour burners. STODART, D. March 14, 1947, Nos. 7191 and 14799. [Class 75(i)] An oil burner comprises a preheating pipe a, Fig. 1, to which oil is supplied through a control valve d and which is heated by flames from jet holes g, Fig. 4, in a pipe b in series with the pipe a, and a further pipe or pipes c in series with the pipe b and provided with jet holes j the burning vapour from which provides the main burner flames and also heats the pipe b. The pair of pipes c shown are closed at the ends by removable plugs l to enable the pipes to be cleaned. A regulated amount of water or steam is supplied simultaneously with the oil through a control valve f, and a non-return valve e is provided. Specification 8648/08, [Class 135], is referred to.
