Abstract

284,867. South Metropolitan Gas Co., Evans, E. V., and Chandler, D. Feb. 18, 1927. Gas fires, other than those having radiants of log form, are provided with means for producing both luminous and non-luminous flames. The fire shown comprises perforated radiants 2 resembling coal supported on a refractorv bed 1, and burners 3 and 4 producing luminous and non-luminous flames respectively, the burners 3 projecting into recesses 6 in the bed 1 covered by perforated distributing heads 7 and the burners 4 extending through holes 9 and communicating with the interior of the radiants. Distributing heads may also be used over the burners 4. Specification 266,152 is referred to.
