Gas-fires; radiants. - A gas fire resembling a log fire comprises log-shaped radiants 1, means for introducing a combustible mixture, and means for producing luminous flames resembling those of burning logs. In the form shown in Fig. 3, the combustible mixture is supplied from a mixing- chamber 2, to a cavity 7 in one of the radiants, and is burnt at orifices 8 in front of which are ordinary small radiants 9. Gas unmixed with air is supplied by pipes 11 passing through a radiant, and burns with luminous flames. In a modification, the heating-flames are provided by burners, projecting forwardly from a mixing- chamber at the rear into a cavitv formed below a radiant by cutting away a part of the underside of the radiant and of a base plate on which the radiants are supported. Fig. 6 shows a further modification, in which the heating- burners 14 project into an aperture 15 formed in a base-plate 12 carried by a frame 16.
