1536339 Imitation solid fuel gas fires RICHARD BAXENDALE & SONS Ltd 13 June 1977 [11 June 1976] 33657/77 Divided out of 1536338 Heading F4W The subject-matter of this Specification is substantially the same as that described in Specification 1,536,338, but the claims are concerned with a gas fire comprising at least one radiant unit 8 of inverted open channel-section providing an upper perforate surface obliquely inclined to the horizontal and directed towards the front of the fire, a fire brick 10 on which the unit 8 is supported to define a first passage therebetween, a gas burner 7 to direct flames through the first passage, pieces of artificial fuel 15 supported by the unit(s) 8, and plates 23, 24 defining a second passage 25 along which combustion products can pass from the first passage to a flue arrangement 6 of the fire.
