Abstract

Air supply for combustion.-In a burner in which the gas passes from a nipple c through a mixing tube d to lateral outlets band draws in air through a chamber a, the air-inlets b<1> of the chamber a are arranged in close proximity to the outlets b so that the air is heated before entering the burner. The burner 1, Figs. 2 and 6 may be mounted in a stove 2 having a plate 3, which surrounds the burner below the inlets b<1> and is provided with apertures 9, the arrangement being such that the air passes through the aperture 9 to the flames and between the latter and the plate 3 to the burner. The apertures 9 may be elongated and extend nearly to the burner. The plate 3 may be dispensed with or may be replaced by an imperforate plate. Utensil supports 4 project upwardly from the plate 3 to allow for the admission of air to the burner.
