Gas fires.-In gas fires of the type in which the gas is preheated in a pipe or passage exposed to the heat of the burners, which are provided with fire-clay nozzles, the burner nozzle t rests on a shoulder on the uptake tube s in such a way that it does not contact with the top of the tube and thereby obstruct the outer row of perforations formed in the top of it. In the stove shown the gas is preheated in a pipe c passing up and down the double side walls, and under the top, of the stove.
