Actuating by gas pressure; buckets; single-acting b u c k e t pumps. - A pump for supplying cooling water to gas engine pistons comprises a cylinder A provided with suction valve G and suction chamber H, and a tubular plunger B carrying a delivery valve J and a delivery chamber D which is connected by a pipe L to the piston rod. The chamber D is rigidly connected to the engine crosshead C so that the plunger B reciprocates in phase with the crosshead.
