Abstract
256,763. Heard, W. H. July 14, 1925. Two - stroke engines.-In an engine which compresses a pump charge in the end of the cylinder remote from the compression space an oscillating valve A of spherical curvature, and worked by the lateral movement of the piston rod G, controls the inlet of the charge through a passage J to the compression space B during the up-stroke of the piston. Towards the end of the down - stroke, the compressed charge is transferred through ports L, M, and exhaust occurs through ports N, P, both sets of ports L and N being formed in a sleeve extension H<1> of the piston.
