Abstract

Counterbalances; rods and rod guides; using delivery pressure to assist suction stroke ; single - acting suction valveless bucket pumps. - Asingle-acting bucket pump comprises a cylinder 2 provided with a delivery valve 8, a bucket 5, the valve 9 of which closes during the upstroke, a delivery pipe 13, and two pistons 4, 6 connected to the bucket and reciprocating in cylinders 1, 3. Dur. ing the downstroke, the pressure of the delivery column on the upper faces of the pistons 4, 6 assists the movement of the bucket. The bucket and pistons are actuated by a lever 12 carrying a weight 17 to balance the delivery column. An extension 10 of the bucket passes through guide slots 22, 23.
