Abstract

295,205. Wells, J. E. March 22, 1928. Actuating by liquid pressure; diaphragm pumps.-Two diaphragm pumps 1, 2 are alternately actuated by liquid supplied to the upper sides of the diaphragms by a pump 15. The liquid passes to and fro between the pump 15 and the pumps 1, 2 through pipes 17, 23 and channels 20, 21, 22 controlled by a slide valve 19, which may be operated by hand or automatically. The automatic operation is effected by a piston 28 on the valve spindle exposed alternately on opposite sides to the delivery pressure of the pump 15 at the ends of the delivery strokes of the diaphragms. A tumbler weight 39 regulates the movement of the valve.
