Cone and disc; actuated or applied by driving- mechanism disengagers and springs. - A brake employed as a clutch stop and actuated automatically by a spring .g<2> when the clutch is disengaged, comprises a disc h<1> engaging an annular friction facing h<9> on a screwed sleeve h<2> rotated for adjustment by a knurled disc h<4>. The disc h<4> is splined to the sleeve and is provided with a ring of holes h<6>, so that, by engaging any one of the holes with a fixed pin h<7> and clamping the disc by a nut h<8>, the sleeve h<2> is locked in position. The driven shaft e carries the single intermediate plate f<6> of the clutch and also the brake disc h<1>, which is applied to the, facing h<9> on release of the clutch presser-plate c to a predetermined extent. The brake-actuating spring g2 is contained in telescopic members Àg, g<1>, one of which bears against the driven shaft and the other through a ball thrust bearing g<3> on the driving shaft b.
