Abstract
249,558. Soc. Anon. des Brevets Kornfeld, (Representatives of Kornfeld, A.). March 23, 1925, [Convention date]. Receivers.-The vibrating- member of a telephone receiver is a soft iron reed 4, one end of which is connected rigidly, without an air gap, to the pole of the magnet 2 on the periphery of the receiver, and the other end is above an axially movable soft iron rod 7 surrounded by a coil or winding 9. One end of the rod is connected to the second pole of the magnet and the other end is separated from the reed by an air gap which is adjusted by the axial movement of the rod. The reed is connected directly to a diaphragm 11, or through a lever, or through an extension consisting of a thin, stiff rod. The reed is connected to the peripheral pole by a soft iron member 3 which may be surrounded by an auxiliary coil or winding 12. According to a modification the magnet is in the form of a U and the air gap is regulated by a lever controlled by a manually operated screw. Specification 245,727 is referred to.
