Abstract

240,989. Glover & Co., Ltd., T., and Glover, W. R. Sept. 13, 1924. Float valves.-A device for supplying power for a certain period of time and suitable for operating valves or switches to open or close them after a predetermined interval comprises a container for liquid in which is revolubly mounted a box D having a small opening E in one side through which the liquid slowly passes as the box settles under gravity. The box spindle is turned by hand to set the apparatus the liquid being emptied from the box through a, large opening D<2>. The Figure shows a valve L actuated from a cam N on the box spindle through a lever mechanism M, K the valve being placed in a separate casing F to which gas is admitted through a tap H and serving to cut off the delivery of gas to the pipe I. A valve may be fitted in the small opening E to regulate the apparatus.
