Abstract
131,150. Clegg, J. H. Aug. 15, 1918. Rotary appara,tus, internally illuminated; moving and changing apparatus.-Relates to means for intermittingly illuminating displaying or advertising devices, either stationary or of the rotating-drum type, in which latter case the device may actuate the drum. The apparatus comprises a bellows to the upper movable member 1 of which is fixed a valvular apparatus to and from which inlet and outlet pipes 12, 13 lead. The inner ends of these pipes 12, 13 are adapted to be closed by valves 14, 15 against which a ball 11 bears. The ball 11 rolls along track bars 10 against one or the other of the valves 14, 15 according to the inclination of the bars 10, which is determined by the full or empty state of the bellows. Thus, as shown in Fig. 2, the valve 14 has fallen open by gravity to allow gas to enter and fill the bellows, and the ball 11 has rolled to close the valve 15 to cut off the gas from the burner. As the bellows fills, the member 1 rises and the inclination of the bars 10 is reversed, the ball 11 rolling down and opening the valve 15 and closing the valve 14. The valve 15 is furnished with a tail 16 for direct action by the ball 11, and the valve 14 may be similarly fitted. A by-pass, which may be provided from the bellows, lights the gas issuing at the burner
