Abstract
239,988. Auster, Ltd., and Spry, W. R. Aug. 18, 1924. Wind and like screens or deflectors. - In a rear windscreen of the type in which the hinged joints of the supporting arms move towards one another as the screen is moved toward the back of the front seat such as is described in Specification 2898/09. the hinged-together supporting arms 2, 3 are adapted when folded together to lie one above the other immediately beneath the screen 1, or beneath the lower edge of the latter, or so that the arms and the screen, or the main portion thereof, all lie in substantially the same vertical plane. The hinged joints connecting the arms 2 and 3 together, Fig. 2. and to the bracket 4 and cross-bar 9 respectively may comprise a spigot and socket provided with a projection 23 on one portion forming a stop to limit the extreme angular movement of the arms. The arms 2 are each cranked at 13 to permit the standards 11 supporting the screen 1 to lie in the same vertical plane as the arms when the screen is turned down against the back of the front seats Fig. 6. The arms 3 may be connected directly to the lower edge of the windscreen 1.
