Abstract

Vehicle-window opening and closing apparatus. - A windowoperating device, particularly for vehicle windows, of the kind comprising a chain and sprocket or the like driven by a handle with a clutch or braking device for holding the window in any position, is provided with a bearing for the sprocket on a bush or projection formed on an extension of the clutch casing. An idler or guidewheel 21 is adjustably mounted on a screwed rod slidably carried by the frame and the tension is maintained by a spring 26 on the rod. A rubber pad 27 provided at the back of the idler boss allows pivotal motion of the idler about the axis of the pin.
