The wheel c is carried in a block d sliding under the pressure .of an adjustable spring d' in a frame e and may be rotated by a crank handle c<2> or by a chain or toothed wheel, pulley, &c. The wheel c and the engaging surface of the wheel b may be of fibre or metal.
